Bud and Temple Abernathy - rode from Coney Island, New York, to Golden Gate 
Park, California in 1911. They were aged eleven and seven, travelled with no 
adult supervision, and made the trip in 62 days. Their amazing story can be 
found in Ride the Wind.


I wonder what society would think of this ride now? Good thing the ride wasn't 
sanctioned by SERA.
