Thanks for the analysis. Interesting data.

About your comments on the rapid increase in LD in the Midwest. Before the early 90's there were exactly no LD rides in UMECRA. Their place being taken by CTR (UMECRA competitive riding) on the same venue as Endurance. Obviously, participation in CTR does not show up on AERC database. The growth of LD in the Midwest has partly been at the expense of CTR, and partly (the reason for multiple LD at a given ride) by folk riding more rides per weekend. (Please note that this is a guess, one would have to look at UMECRA data in the same way you looked at AERC data to say for sure)
