Truman, I agree -- Angie is definitely correct (except for the spelling, but
that's forgiveable).  Y'all is *never* singular.  It's always plural...!

And, being a tried and true Texan forever (5th generation) even though I
live in Colorado now (!)...,  I agree, Texas is not part of the south.
Never has been.  As any true Texan will tell you, Texas is not part of
*anything,* it is Texas.   :-o

And I am quite certain there are many true southerners who will agree -- 
they don't want Texas to be part of the South, either.  :-)

Y'all. All the other misuses are simply local dialects.
