There are as many treatments for scratches, as
there are owners who deal with it. What works for one, may or may not work for
the next horse. There are different types of scratches too, caused by different
issues. There used to be some articles on Endurance net that covered
some of the different cures. I will add a "ditto" though to the Trail rite
magical ointment. Follow the directions, wrap as indicated, and boy does it work
on scratches and even wounds to heal them up nice.
