[RC] vent and question on leash/bag - Marta Kozlowska

couple of months ago while ordering a pair of bare boots form an
endurance oriented vendor, i also ordered a leash and bag for the
sponge. i had a home made one which fell apart and thought i'd give
the professional version a shot. i haven't had a chance to try it
until today and boy am i disappointed!!!! i can't believe i paid good
money for it. my mare is short, 15 hands, the leash on this stupid
bag is SO short it leaves the bag hanging somewhere around my mare's
knees. this may be okay when you're in a deep river, but otherwise
it's pretty much useless. i'm so disappointed that endurance folk
sell this kind of garbage:(

and now to the question part (which may also turn out to be a design
fault, warranting a separate vent) - the bag is mesh and the leash has
one clip on the end. so i clip it to the d ring on my saddle and i'm
left with this stupid thing dangling 2 feet above the ground. yes, i
can tie it to shorten it, but that means that when i want to wet the
sponge i have to untie the knot and w/ gloves on it's not a quick
thing. so i'm thinking there is a trick to this but what is it? how do
you loop the leash so it stays up high when you're riding? (and btw, i
intend to replace the leash with my own longer version).

thanks in advance for advice and allowing me to vent... grrrr!

marta
