[RC] Driving to Bryce from So. Cal. - k s swigartPeggy said: I'm heading out to Bryce Monday evening or Tuesday morning. Has anyone who goes my way (up 15 through Las Vegas) stayed at the Clark County Fairgrounds? When going to the Bryce Canyon ride, I just drove straight through, and I was coming from the same distance and direction as you (~90 miles to Barstow and up I15 from there), and if I weren't going to drive straight through, I would want to get further than just outside of Las Vegas on the first day. My preference is to get to base camp as early as possible so my horse can recover from the drive. I have overnighted many times on my "up I15" through Utah excursions at the fairgrounds in Parowan, but I have also stopped at places outside of St. George and Hurricane, and can give you info about them if you want.
