Re: [RC] Regional 100 mile incentive programs - rdcarrie

<< But I am pretty sure that when endurance riders talk about 100s they are usually referring to one day 100s.>>

I know I sure am.  When I do a custom ride calendar, looking for 100 mile rides that I might be able to attend (having done one, I'm rabidly eager for more <G>), both one day and two day 100s are included in the search.  I ignore the two day 100s.  To me, those are nothing more than riding two 50s back to back, with the risk of losing the first day if one doesn't complete the second.  I don't want to get credit for riding a 100 when all I've done is ride two 50s.  I want any 100s on my ride record to be the real thing.

You are exactly right. Many top riders use both CTR 3 day 100's to build

The line above that "riders use 3 day CTRs to BUILD UP to the 100 mile endurance ride" says it all.  This statement alone explains why one day 100 mile rides should not be grouped with 2 day 100s and 3 day CTRs when it comes to a "100 mile achievement award".   This may be my perspective as an endurance rider only, meaning I don't know if CTR riders feel that a 100 automatically means 3 day ride.  But I am pretty sure that when endurance riders talk about 100s they are usually referring to one day 100s.
