Hi Patti,
Those of us who weren't there may not know all the details concerning
the death of the two horses, but most of the posts I've read are talking
about other aspects of the ride - length, difficulty, lack of drag
riders,

One more time: drag riders are the exception, not the rule. No ride
should be criticized for the lack of them.

in accuracy of maps and descriptions.

I didn't see the maps in question, but most ride maps aren't all that
useful and some rides don't have maps at all. The Big Horn is almost
the only ride I know of that will send you detailed maps with GPS
waypoints in advance of the ride if you request them (I loaded the
waypoints into my GPS in case I needed them last year -- I didn't).

We are reacting to what
is being said by people who were there. That's what Ridecamp is for.
Information about the deaths of the horses needs to go to the Welfare of
the Horse Committee, not Ridecamp unless you want even more Trial by
Media. However, it is important to distinguish between Trial by Media
and open discussion and sharing of opinion.
