I had one too...still have her in fact, but she's a pasture potato.  I started the sport on her back in 1999 because she was the only horse I happened to own at the time...did 5 LDs on her.  She not only hated the sport (she's very lazy), but she has a short-strided, choppy, jackhammer trot.  We did most of our miles either at a nice jog or a canter (both of which are smooth as butter on her).  She's sweet as can be and would make a great kids horse...but distance riding ain't her cup of tea.

I can vouch for that!  I owned one once.  Most inept horse I ever rode...wouldn't climb hills and quit every time he had a chance.  All I can say is it was a learning experience.  Not sure what the lesson was, but it WAS an experience.  Imagine trying to do Tevis on this horse.......I tried and gave up from fatigue of dealing with him.
