Just a note - WE all know the rules, but it might never
occur to a newbie coming from a show background where horses
are "washed up" at 3 or 4 that there might be a minimum age to
compete.  So whenever introducing the sport to new people,
especially if you have clues that their horse might be
younger, be sure to tell them about the age requirement.
If nothing else it might save a 3 year from being ridden
into the ground in preparation for a 50 miler!
