[RC] farrier recommendations near Grand Rapids, MI - Karen Casemier

I'm looking for a reliable and, of course, good farrier to shoe three horses in Caledonia, MI (just SE of Grand Rapids). No special shoeing needs - one pleasure/dressage QH, one trail/LD Morgan mare with excellent feet, and one young Arab mare with good feet that will be doing LD and eventually endurance.

Since I know how difficult it can be to get on board with a well established farrier, I am open to a younger farrier that is starting out that has references (preferrably from endurance riders). Skill and reliability are more important considerations than cost. I work close to home, and my husband is a full time student (vet school), so between the two of us, we can be there for appointments at pretty much any time of day.

So as to not clutter the list, you can e-mail me directly at kcrazzmatazz at hotmail dot com.

As a side note, why does it seem nearly impossible to find a good farrier?
