[RC] Lasik and sunglasses - Deanna German

I had the LASIK procedure done 3 or 4 years ago when I was in my late 30's. Although I wasn't blind without contacts or glasses, they were just too much of a PITA for my active lifestyle.

I had every side-effect that all patients get warned about..... and it was STILL WORTH IT.

Regarding sunglasses: those cheapy ones have cheapy UV coating that wears off quickly. And then, guess what? Your pupils are dilated because you are looking through dark lenses -- you're exposing your eyes to more UV than you would if you didn't wear sunglasses.

So I only get good sunglasses now. And yes, I lose them, sit on them, leave them out for the dog to chew on and so have to replace them, but it's still cheaper than eye surgery.
