Re: [RC] Drafting - any gain? - Jessica Spoone-Raines

My boy does this too, if anybody has any suggestions on how to break him of the habit I would love to know. Right now if I catch him weaving to keep our riding partner from passing I pull him to the side and slow him down until they're past. It's gotten to where I normally let them take the lead just so he doesn't go into race brain on me.

Lud had a horse that effectively controlled horses that tried to pass him...he would pin his ears and sneer at any horse that tried that.  Another trick of his was to weave back and forth across the trail to cut them off.  This was the horse's technique, not Lud's.
