[RC] saddle fit - Jonni

Nanwolfden postewd: >>>I just got a new saddle and when I take it off after a ride there are 2 dry spots on my horses withers and dry down the middle of the back.  I have heard that a dry back is good and the saddle fits properly, should it also be dry at the wither.  It is a ortho-flex with the bootie.<<<

You would have the dry area down the middle of the back with the orthoflex and bootie, as the saddle is not covering that area, and the air flows well through there, thus often no sweat. But dry spots at the withers, especially if "surrounded" by wet/sweat areas would probably be pressure points.

If the saddle was bought new from Ortho-Flex, I'd contact them, to discuss the fit. If used, welcome to the wonderful world of getting the perfect saddle fit......
