Good point - they cost about $1000 retail - through my insurance negotiated
rate it only cost $529.

What surprised me was how "thick" the slices are - 5mm. Doesn't sound like a
lot until you think about the inside of a joint - slices that think led my
OS to believe my ACL was gone when in fact it was behind the meniscal flap
[luckily!]

P.S. I'd definately let them know there was no insurance 
before they try to get you to have an MRI. They diagnosed 
them for a long time before they got that expensive toy.
