Fw: [RC] trot/canter - Dot Wiggins

I should have clarified this just a bit. The "same HR at trot or canter at same speed or terrain" does not apply to all horses. It was about some of my seasoned horses who were good at changing gaits/leads on their own, without cues from me.
Lots of horses will have HRs that vary with gait changes.

Dot Wiggins' post has me replying to ask for further discussion. She wrote that she found no difference between the HR at the canter and trot as long as terrain etc didn't change.
