Re: [RC] Parelli on Jigging--LONG - rides2far

"Green on Green gets you Black and Blue"

Amen! Had a man out yesterday to give us a bid on rocking our foundation.
He looked at my horses and said, "Do you work with horses much"? and I
said "pretty good bit". He went on to tell me his inlaws has bought two
horses and they are just MEAN. I asked him more about it. What he called
MEAN (said with *special* emphasis) was that if you give the "girl"
something to eat, the "boy" will run her off from it every time! >sigh<
About that time my 2nd in command horse started walking towards the
bottom of the pecking order's hay pile. I said, "Watch this...the dark
horse will scoot away and that horse will take his hay, then the dark
horse will circle wide around him and ease up to the other horse looking
humble and be allowed to eat with him. He was amazed when they did
it...something that to us is the most natural thing in the world. You've
just got to wonder what possesses people to go out and get 2000 lbs. of
something they have no clue what to think about.

P.S. I read somewhere that Traveler jigged...at least with Rober E's son.
The son rode him all day one day and swore never again...but that Robert
E. liked the little prance. I'll bet it was a softer prance with Robert
E. riding relaxed, and became a nervous jig with the son.
