RE: [RC] Endurance - FEI, UAE - bobmorris

Title: Message
In the USA the chain of command as defined in the USEF rules is from the AERC to the AERC-I to the USEF. For the AERC Board of Directors to properly examine the changes and to advise on them, the information should come from the AERC-I. The AERC-I, by all means, should keep the AERC Board of Directors advised of such actions. Buy as a Director I have found feed back from AERC-I to be minimal.

Now, from the AERC-I to the USEF there are several "sub-routes" that must be followed to get to the root. The USEF Endurance Committee and the High Performance Athletes Committee. By taking a stance with out any full understanding of the subject is foolish. I agree, the AERC BoD must take some action to defend our principles. But it must be done through channels. Ask the question of our representatives in AERC-I and expect a prompt answer, digest the answer and then act by stating a position that, as the sanctioning entity in the USA, we expect to be considered.

Initial stating of an untenable level is not the way to win.

Subject: Re: [RC] Endurance - FEI, UAE

True words, Truman. Indeed, minor league baseball is in a sense an entity in its own, yet it is painted with the same brush as MLB. funny - they don't get paid the big bucks, by and large, and clearly the HUGE majority do it truly "for the love of the game". That is the brush I would want to be painted with. The reason we got out of showing Arabians was because of the abuse, the politics, the cheating (yes, cheating), and finally the idiocy of a system that encourages owners/breeders to breed terrible individuals simply because of who the sire is  - bad business at  best and cruel at worst. I for one don't want to be associated with an organization that supports, even by default, abuse, negligence or political decision-making. So...help me here - how does the relationship between FEI, AERC and AERC-I hold up in this light? I would like to hear from both sides.
