Re: [RC] Analyzing Home Made Electrolytes. - Sisu West RanchSince tablespoons are a measure of volume, and grams are a measure of mass it is impossible to interconvert. The mass (roughly weight) of a tablespoon of stuff depends on the stuff and its state. For example: while a gram (or pound) of lead is the same mass (weight) as a gram (pound) of feathers a tablespoon of lead has much more mass or weight than a tablespoon of feathers. The weight of a volume of ground NaCl and the weight of an equal volume of ground KCl will be close to each other, so since dosing of electrolytes by mouth is not very sensitive to exact masses or proportions, you can probably substitute a tablespoon for a tablespoon.
