Re: [RC] Don't dismount when your horse is pointed downhill - Simrat Khalsa

Agreed. I think I'll replace my leash with a hinge. ;-)

I have a Fuji S5000. One of the reasons I like it is that it has a protective tube over the zoom lens. I put a filter on that so that the lens is protected from the elements. it has weathered several falls with nothing more than the filter popping off. in this fall, it may have hit the pavement (not sure) and it was just fine. I had my husband test it out by taking pictures of my wrist before they set it. I wanted to remember what it looked like.

I also like this camera because it has a neck strap like an SLR. i had it tucked between my fleece and goretex that day, as had been suggested earlier on RC. :)

Cameras with integrated lens covers are a definite advantage on the trail:)

I would use, at this juncture, a Canon SD4100 or SD200 I think (although I have had trouble with sand in the lens extension gears). And I MIGHT try the Canon SD30 in Vivacious Violet:) - or the SD80 (with wide-angle) ...

Heal well!
