Cameras with integrated lens covers are a definite advantage on the trail:)

I would use, at this juncture, a Canon SD4100 or SD200 I think (although I have 
had trouble with sand in the lens extension gears). And I MIGHT try the Canon 
SD30 in Vivacious Violet:) - or the SD80 (with wide-angle) ...
