Oh gosh, Beth, that was a touching moment for everyone who was there!
This rider was going to hand his horse off to Beth to trot out because (like a few of us older riders) trotting isn't his best gait.
The horse wouldn't move for Beth, so the rider asked the vet if he could do the trot out without a lead. The vet grinned and said sure, and the guy moved off with his horse trotting beautifully behind him. They returned the same way, everyone clapped, and they walked off from the vet area, still without a lead.
