Hi Kitty - Having lived in New Mexico for almost 12 years now, I can tell you it's a fabulous place. I will email you directly with more info and a link to an email list comprised of New Mexico equine enthusiasts (all kinds of equines for all kinds of uses!). It's a chat list but there are people on the list from Enstancia and Albuquerque and surrounding areas who can help you out.
