Re: [RC] Half Arabs & Arab Crosses - Jon . Linderman

I'd guess that while things may change w/other breeds coming to be popular that a large fraction of the 1/2 arabs are 1/2 saddlebred. I see the endurance folks at the Addis sales and if they don't get purebreds they pick up 1/2 arab 1/2 saddlebred crosses, and the odd 3/4 arab, 1/4 saddlebred.   Lois Macafee's horse Tonka Toi is 1/2 saddlebred &  another that comes to mind is (can't remember his name Sha Win???) one of the perfect 10 horses that Roberta Harms rides.

I have an odd duck with both parents 1/2 arab 1/2 saddlebred........not many of those around and not sure its ideal, but hes got a big heart figuratively and has been a blue collar "completer".

Hi All!

This is a curiosity question…   Those of you who ride ½ Arabians, and Arabian crosses for endurance:  What is the other breeding and percentage?

My guy is ¼ Tennessee Walking Horse and ¾ Arabian.

In reading the results, it seems that there are an abundance of Arab crosses, but no breakdown on the other breed components.

Thanks!
