Horray, I think you have found the source of the problem. I think the kick to the fetlock is first and the horse is yanking up that kicked leg prematurely then has to catch himself with the other leg which is not on the ground yet so his rear end drops. I have seen farriers rap an uncooperative horse on the fetlock with a horseshoe and the horse literally jumps off that leg onto the other one. Similar to smacking your anklebone on the freakin coffee table and jumping around yelling gosh and golly. I now ride with Old Macs Boots so there is no metal to hit his fetlock and in the last 3 years he has never knuckled over again. Don
