Re: [RC] boarding rules - Linda Nichols

Title: Re: [RC]   boarding rules
So I have to add to the problem of boarding stables with time rules. I boarded at a place where they sometimes didn’t want you out there because they had some family BBQ going on or some such thing. Usually, they would forget to forewarn me and I would drive the half hour to the ranch and they would then kick me out. NOT FUN to be paying $250 a month, only having 1 day off work that week, and not be able to see my horses on that day because they didn’t want boarders traipsing around while they were having a family day. They also wanted people gone by dark, which in winter is REALLY early, like, right after supper. So that cut out seeing my horses during the week. Well, I’m not there anymore, even though it was a really pretty place and I liked the people. I just didn’t like being treated like I was supporting their horse hobby but only at their convenience.

Thats why I said in my #5 "special circumstances and you have been made
aware of it ahead of time"  (Ie:  coming in late ect)

I do have to agree with you, I would never want my horses to be at a place
that put restrictions on my time, but I don't have to worry about that
because my horses are kept at home.

I have seen many folks have trouble with stabling problems and mostly it is
because stuff was not spelled out ahead of time.  Just make sure everyone
knows the rules... thats really all I was trying to say.
