Amen to the old adage. I do think that some horses just don't do well in steel shoes just like some women (my wife included) just don't do well in high heels. It's not always the farrier's fault but it would be nice if the farrier (since he is the expert) would suggest some alternatives including barefoot, boots, something besides the slow downhill slide into lameness. Don
