Re: [RC] TWH as endurance horses - Suzi Maiorisi

Might consider a gaited Morgan - that's what I ride and I get a smooth comfortable ride with SPEED to go with.  She also has excellent recoveries and is always willing to keep going.  My mare is 14.3 so she's maybe a little smaller than you're wanting, but I didn't want anything I couldn't get on from the ground and I'm 5'2" and a heavyweight.   The comments I've heard as we trotted past the Arabs was 'Wow, what a trot!'...she can definitely cover ground in any gait and is very willing to keep going regardless..
Good luck

Subject: [RC] TWH as endurance horses

My wife is wanting to get a TWH to ride with me and my Arab on 25 and 50 milers.  Is the TWH a reasonable breed for this ?  Also would a 15 hand TWH ccool down more quicklly than a 16 hand TWH ?  Thanks for your input.
