RE: [RC] Information from Pulled Horses - heidi

As far as I know this has always (at least in the modern day) been a
requirement. It's not a big deal. At the SE rides the data is collected
by the head timer (she gets the cards from the vet). She normally fills
out the form and gives them to the RM. The report is reviewed by the
head vet and RM and off it goes. Most of the time riders with lame
horses will return with them when there is a lull in the vetting to try
to determine the reason. That information could also be included. All
treatments have to be reported so that is already in place.

I meant to address this in one of my posts as well. We were working on
report forms back in the mid-80s, and I think they have been standard
since around 1990, give or take a year or two. At any rate, they are
far from new--Truman is quite correct about that.

Also, AERC rules specify reporting not only deaths, but also treatments.

Heidi
