[RC] Yet another Hurricane - drhopkins

There are always some folks that refuse to go. One of the reasons many
times is they can't take thier pets to shelters with them or on public
transportation to get out and they refuse to leave their pets to fend
for themselves. That's a real two edges sword for emergency planners and
it does amount to a significant number.

Watching Fox News and Hurricane Rita is at 150 mph. Cat. 5 is 155. There's
nothing but warm water to let is strengthen before it hits land on Sat. am.
I also just heard that they are telling anyone who needs a ride to be
evacuated to call. They will allow you to bring a suitcase and your pet.
Makes sense that the humane society would rather set up sites for keeping the
pets rather than having to go into rescue the pets and the others having to go
in and rescue the humans that stayed behind to stay with their pets. Maybe
they've learned something from Katrina.
