[RC] ride fees and costs - Jonni

Paddi, the Old Warriors water Hunt in the PS region did some things different. Everyone was asked to bring a completion award, in a brown paper bag. When you completed, you went to the table, and got a bag.... We got other awards donated, or gave away items from the lost and found box from previous rides. maybe even left over T-shirts from the Sunland ride. Never knew what you would get. We did a 50 mile only, and it was over a tough trail, so we wanted to make sure riders KNEW this was not for the new to the sport riders, or underconditioned horses. Ride entry was $50 to the ride, and $50 to Ronald McDonald house I think. So, it was a "benefit" ride. We did have a dinner / party afterwards, but the volunteers were from the above mentioned group that it was a benefit for.

Tell riders up front what to expect, give them vets,  a trail, and water on the trail....anything else is a bonus... Make sure they KNOW this is not gonna be a ride with homemade cookies at the lunch stop, and lemonade stands along the trail..... They will attend.....
