Re: [RC] poison oak - Carolyn Burgess

Nancy:

I have to agree with Dabney. I am terribly allergic
to it. You can treat it topically with hydrocortisone
cream, as long as it is localized. Once it becomes
systemic (if you are highly allergic, this is what
usually happens) or if it is in a very sensitive area,
like around the eye or other sensitive openings :-o,
get the shot and go on the pills for the 7 - 10 days.
Otherwise, you will be fighting a losing battle for a
very long time.

There's no home remedy that can compare.

OKAY - so we're sort of off topic with the killer
bees, how about poison oak? I have a killer case of
poison oak from clearing trail (see- it is endurance
related). Anyone have an effective remedy that
doesn't require a trip to the doctor?
