[RC] tending to pastures - Kathy Ramspott

Sorry if this is off topic but I'm desperate. For the last 5 years I've been mowing all pastures and lawns with a Craftsman lawn mower. I have bent blades and worn them out every few months due to roots, pastures that grow rocks , dips and valleys and holes from various critters and old tree stumps. Hubby went to fix the latest blade bend and it turns out the 'housing' ? that the blade itself attachers to is broke.

We have 7 1/2 acres but an acre is woods and giving another acre for barn, house, driveway that is roughly 5 acres to mow. Of course the horses eat most of it but there are still weeds and areas they won't eat.

If I am not ready to invest in a full blown farm tractor what are some other options? What do you all do to maintain your pastures?

Thanks.
