[RC] Training advice; Now Backing Up - Dabney Finch

I've found a time efficient way to work on "loading" and "unloading" --use a wash rack.

I had a horse that had reasonable ground manners but got stubborn about
backing out - really stubborn... She wanted to turn around jump out(stock
trailer.) We did what someone else already suggested, clipped two
lungelines to her halter and ran one out the back window on each side. it
took two people, nothing violent, just to correct her each time she tried to
turn and she finally just stood there. Next step was to put a little
consistent pressure on the noseband, just enough to make her slightly
uncomfortable, when she shifted her weight back, we released the pressure,
if she stepped forward we put it back on. The first session was pretty
long, each one got shorter and after about three or four times, she was
backing out fine. Hope this helps.

I've given her some things to work on to help the ground manners and in
the long run that should help the rest, but he just will NOT back out of
her 2 horse trailer.
