[RC] ?correct that horses "keep their acquired fitness"? - Ridecamp Guest

Field trialer here.Some time back,some Ridecamp posters espoused the concept 
that unlike humans,horses maintain an acquired fitness level for a long time 
without continually performing the amount of work that got them to that 
point.Too good to be true? I must admit that this is something I have bought 
into to salve my conscience re the "weekend warrior" regime that I impose on 
Chico the Rebel (and myself).It(seems)to be true-Chico has pretty much been 
tireless,no matter what.Comments?
