[RC] Club Foot - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Anne Trixie64@xxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== Hi, I have a 3 month old filly that in the last month has developed what appears to be a club foot. I noticed it comming on and mentioned it to my vet 3 weeks ago,(the hoof had what looked like an injury in the center of it,and the toe was starting to flare just a little) she said she thought it she had probably bumped the hoof and it would grow out. One week later I had my shoer out and asked him about it and he thought the same thing, trimmed her and in my oppinion trimmed that foot too short and she was sore on it for a week. Now 2 weeks after the shoers visit she still favor this foot and the heel is growing way faster on this foot than the other. Have the vet out and she says oh yes that is a club foot and files down her heel and says to do it every 2 weeks. I feel awful about this and wish I would have started doing something when I first saw a problem. My question is, what can I do to help her along? Is exersize good. She is a beautiful filly and I had big plans for her, is there any chance she can overcome this and become a sound useable horse?
