Re: [RC] 2-horse bumper pull - Chris - ebeyrider

The Brenderup trailers ARE good for the horses. I have one, and I have been
doing endurance for nearly four years towing it with a 6-cyl SUV. I do not
worry about the length of the drive, because there is plenty of room inside for
any size horse, and room to hang hay bags, and a bucket of water too. It has
good ventilation and rubber-torsion suspension and Inertia brakes (no need for
electric brakes on your tow vehicle). The horses travel without stress,
depending on your driving. I have even mounted a HiTie successfully (4 yrs.
use).

HOWEVER, be forwarned that the Baron is the only model with a tack room, and
that is big enough for one person only. The Europeans don't seem to camp with
their horses, just transport them from point A to B. So, camping with two
people and horses, you would need to have room in your tow vehicle for gear.

Sorry, can't email you privately, I read archives and don't have your addy.

If you don't want to buy a new truck too, I would highly suggest you consider a Brenderup trailer. They are designed to be safely pulled by your size vehicle. Consider that Europe/Asia/Aust, all have horses, but full size trucks are not common there...this is what they use. They are about the same price as American made trailers, but if you don't have to buy a new tow vehicle, would save a ton of $$. :) And I can't tell you how often I've seen those 3 horse slant/LQ's struggling to maneuver in tight basecamps lately it seems, and limited entries due to the parking situations.

If you have Brenderup questions, email me at dsimas at wildaboutcats dot org. I've owned two, two of my friends have bought them and my mom just bought one. :)
