Re: [RC] grease crayon - Laney Humphrey

I can't give you the biochemical explanantion (and I may be dead wrong) but it's my understanding that DMSO applied on the surface is quickly absorbed through the skin along with everything under it. It has many medical uses both ex- and internally but, again this is my understanding, has to be used very carefully to avoid bringing unwanted stuff (such as bacteria)inside the horse.
Check with your vet or maybe some list member more knowledgeable than me will respond.

I have found a marvelous way to remove grease crayon, worked almost instantly.
DMSO, a solvent used for various other purposes, applied to the grease pencil and then rubbed with a bot block, and the grease came right off!! I rinsed it well with soap and water to remove it
Can anyone tell me if there is some reason not to use this stuff to remove grease pencil? I hve tried so many other products, but nothing ever really worked.
