Re: [RC] moving up from CT to LD - Ericka Nelson

i have looked at lifetime milage for some local riders here in the west.  some of them have almost no LD miles, while they have 25,000 endurance miles.  i'm sure many of their miles were accrued before LD existed, but i find it interesting to know that one really doesn't need LD first.  just something i noticed on a rainy day.

Subject: [RC] moving up from CT to LD

hi there,  you can do LD or endurance when your horse is old enough,  can handle the crowd, and has enough conditioning to do the distance you choose.   no set rules here on how much CT or how much LD before you "move up".    you can start out doing 50s if your horse is ready.
