This is very true.  JRTs take alot of training when they're young and
impressionable....if you take the time, they are great little dogs.  I'm
sure there  are outlaws who remain untrainable no matter what you do.

As with so many breeds of dogs, JRTs have been WAAAY overbred in recent
years because they have been such a fad.  Since there is a tendency this
direction in the breed, without careful selection for breeding stock, it
is no surprise that there are so many really difficult ones out there. 
Sad, but true.  Fads are never good for the health (mental or physical) of
a breed--one need only to look at Arabian halter horses vs Arabian horses
that one can get on and ride in athletic endeavors.
