I've used a one leg hobble attached to a rope that is
staked out. The horse must be hobble trained. The trailing rope does not seem to
get tangled if you are in the open with nothing for it to get wrapped around.
Still, please be careful. II make them out of nylon dog collar's wrapped
in sheepskin halter tubes.
