[RC] Affording Endurance Riding - Katie Azevedo

Dear RideCampers,
I have a question for all you horse owners and endurance riders out there. I am not even 20 years old yet, and am definitely not financially independent-- so I don't really know how it is. BUT I wonder how people have the money to spend so much on multiple horses. But on TOP of that.. I wonder how people can spend hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars just on entry fees!! Not to mention the driving costs just to get there. And ofcourse all this added up is probably only a fraction of what it costs to have an endurance career. Can someone please tell me how they manage to afford all of this? And what makes them want to go to, say, 10 rides a year?
Thank you for your insights!
Kate
PS I totally see myself doing endurance the rest of my life, and hope I can afford it! Tips/advice please???
