Re: [RC] [RC] Arabians and/or Andalusians - Lynne Glazer

There's only sixty-ish Lipp-Arab crosses registered in the US.

I like the Baroque horse mind, and after spending a bunch of hours on four different days with the Lusitano stallions of the Cavalia show, I'm even more enamored of them.

I was hoping for (and got) bone, intelligence (nothing wrong with smarts-squared), substance, a shorter back than my mare, a wider track behind, and of course
the hard-wired ability to collect. And hopefully be real sensible at the start of an endurance ride (quit laughing, Sandy!) and get me more interested in dressage.

The unexpected part was height. The stallion is 14.2 and at this rate my kid will eclipse that; her butt is almost to my shoulder now (and I'm 5'6"). The second startling thing was the degree of proprioception she has, truly remarkable for a kid. She's 5 months now. If anyone gets Arabian Horse World Magazine, she got her own page in the September issue's
baby photo section, page 381.

Am also shooting Baroque horses more these days and admire their brio while still remaining totally oriented towards their humans.

There was an attempt years ago to create what I considered a
part bred - called the Aralusian. The "organization" was
neother organized nor responive so we just belw it off. Too
bad since a few horses who HAD been produced in those few
years were actually pretty nice

The Hispano-Arabe is a long-time cross-bred "breed" in Spain, and is Arabian x Andalusian. As far as I know, there is a registry here in the US for Hispano-Arabes; and the F1 cross can also be registered as half-Arabian and half-Andalusian. I have no idea if the Hispano-Arabe registry is organized or any good. The cross, however, can be simply stunning.

Lynne Glazer (among others) has a Lipizzan x Arab cross. That
would be similiar, since it's the cross of a Baroque breed with
Arabian. It's another cross that can be amazing. Lynne's baby
sure looks like she got the best of both worlds. :)
