Good question. I think maybe I would have tried to have it removed. I had seen other lumps on horses like that, though - we had a mare that had one on her throat. She was a teenager then, I believe, and she was put down due to an infected prolapsed uterus when she was in her late 20s. My foster daughter Amber owned her in the last years of the mare's life, so I don't know if any other lumps developed, but I do recall the vet just told me to watch it, didn't recommend a biopsy. Of course, in both the mare's and Froggies case, there weren't any other lumps developing during their working years. When Froggie started getting more - and there were lots more and fairly suddenly - he was quite old, so I wasn't going to biopsy or operate.


Sorry, I'm not being very helpful. Your horse is much younger. If he was mine I might want to know. The breath/sweating thing could be totally unrelated.
