I think that somebody needs a geography lesson since I cannot imagine anybody calling California, Wyoming, and Nevada "coast to coast." :) I suspect that she actually meant the Old Dominion (or some other east coast 100 miler) instead of Virginia City. The Virginia City 100 is a tough trail, but since it is held in the late summer/early fall in the Nevada desert, humidity is rarely one of its challenges and the year that I did it, it really wasn't all that hot either.
