Re: [RC] Triple Crown - rides2far

I think a triple
crown
should include three of the toughest 100's in the country.

Tough is relative. You're considering "tough" mountains, rocks, etc. I
like mountain rides and mountain horses, and the photos of those places
look "tough" but I also know that *winning* a race on flat, deep sand in
the heat against superior competition requiring *speed* is another form
of tough. The Triple Crown of TB races is 3 different distances and
requires a horse that can show speed in the Preakness and stamina in the
Belmont. Maybe a triple crown should require three *different* types of
courses? That said, any horse that won OD, Big Horn, & Tevis would
definately prove they were the kings of the mountain horses. Actually
any horse that *completed* those three in one year...or a lifetime has my
respect!
