For several years now I've been making a simple butt cover out of the same 
mesh I make screens out of, they work great. Cashel also makes a "Quiet Ride 
Bug Armor" out of the same material as their riding fly masks. It is a set 
of a mesh rump cover and a neck-shoulder cover. With the mask and belly 
guard it offers nose to tail protection.
