[RC] question/advice - Ridecamp Guest

==========================================

I already know the answer to this question, but here it goes.

My girl friend has been working very hard the past 1yr conditioning her 7 yr
old Arab for a 25 mile CTR. The horse and rider are very ready. In the past
month the saddle decided to no longer fit, so she ordered a custom Synergist
that will arrive on 9/17. The problem is the 25 mile she wants to do is
on the 18th!

I know you should never ride in new tack, especially a saddle, is there ever an
exception to this rule? My head tells me no, there is no exception, but my
heart goes out to her and the work she has done with this horse. My heart
wants to say, it will be okay - it's custom made for him and if it seems like a
bother then pull at the hold.

I guess I just wanted you to help reassure my heart to listen to my head!
