[RC] "pound dog" mentality for horses? - heidiAnd it sounds like that most important thing happened for each of these horses and you Truman, you clicked!!! One thing I've learned, (the hard way at times) is that meeting a horse and knowing it's right means a ton! Went to look at a morgan mare once, I knew the minute I saw her I didn't want to get to know her, don't know why, but I think she felt the same way! My boys I have now have all wanted me and vice versa. I could see it in their eyes. My last one, the rescue stud/18 and unbroke, I saw three years ago and he was begging me to get him then. So much, that it made such an impression I've kept track of him and when he went to auction 3 months agoI got there and got him for $300. More than he was worth as meat, that's for sure! Owner won't give me the papers, is holding them hostage for another $1200, THAT pisses me off but is another story for another day!

The next stop for him would have been the auction I am sure. I got him for free because he was too quick for my wife and she kept ending up on the ground. He's still a pistol and still quick and we'll have 10 years riding together next year. Before him I got the mare for 800 bucks. She was for sale because the owner couldn't control her. I'm no sure I always had full control of her but we had a ball together. After all she was called the "Horse from Hell.". She is still my number one and the memories with her will never be forgotten.
