Re: [RC] Chain Link for Horse Fence - TypeF \(Jackie Floyd\)Well, they've kicked it several times and/or kicked at eachother and missed and so far, just bent the stuff a little. And I'm way inland so never gave the sea air a thought. :) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tina Rushing" <tina@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "ridecamp" <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, September 02, 2004 7:00 PM Subject: [RC] Chain Link for Horse Fence From: "TypeF \(Jackie Floyd\)" <typef@xxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Re: [RC] Boards At The Top of Fencing...The one thing that I had seen work out at a stables I visited waschain length fence with hot wire along the top. Not really conventional horse fencing but it worked. So that's what we did. Nine years later it still looks pretty darn good... If you are near the ocean the salt air will make chain link fencing brittle. If your frisky horse puts a hoof through it (you know this will happen) it may have an undesireable leg-shredding result. I don't know anything about the safety and durability of chain link in other climates. If your horses are not frisky you may never have a problem.
